Contract of employment
You are entitled by law to have
a written "Statement of Particulars" within 2 months of the start date
of your employment. Ideally this contract covers the principal terms and
conditions of your employment.
Ensure
your employer is paying your
tax
The Inland Revenue can seek to
recover unpaid tax from you if your employer fails to pay it.
The payment of National Insurance
affects your entitlement to certain state benefits, eg pensions., Statutory
Maternity Pay and Statutory Sick Pay. These benefits
may be reduced, or not available if your National Insurance is not paid in full.
Make sure that your
employer is paying your tax and National Insurance!
